Brides.com Answers TOP COVID-19 questions from brides

I'm a She Said Yes Bride, is my gown going to be late?

As of right now everything is running as expected.  We always keep a close eye on ship dates even before COVID-19. We monitor shipping and let our brides know if something is running behind as the estimated date for arrival is just an estimate until we have a tracking number. We promise to communicate any changes from the original date to our brides.

Is now a good time to special order my dress from She Said Yes?

Most gowns take 4-7 months to arrive based on the designer.  Many designers are not offering rush options at this time, so if your wedding is within the next year you would need to make a decision on your dream gown soon.  Keeping in mind alterations usually take a month and a half (give or take).

How is this affecting She Said Yes right now?

We have made the decision to go appointment only and limiting guests for the appointment.  We also are now doing virtual pre-appointments to save in person interaction time.  We are still receiving our shipments like normal.  As always, if you have any questions please give us a call!

Wedding is 5/9! Is it fair/possible to ask venue to hold a future date for now?

For your wedding on May 9th, I think it's not unreasonable to ask them to hold another date. It's so close. And, yet, if somebody else calls for that date, you'll have first right of refusal.

If your wedding is postponed, when is a good time to reschedule?

The best time to reschedule is now! Do not wait! Because just think: Everybody else is trying to get a new date. You will lose dates if you wait.

If we postponed, should we re-invite guests who originally declined?

If you postpone the date, most definitely you should invite guests who declined your last date. They may be available now!

If we do postpone, how far in the future should we do it?

So, no one really knows when exactly that safe period is going to be again. But what I'm telling my couples with events in the next eight weeks, is let's look at dates in August and beyond. And, you know what, if September comes, and we have to push it again, we'll push it again.

We want to keep our date! Should we elope instead and party at a later date?

Yes! Definitely do something special on your original date so you have that memory. Then you can have a larger party when this whole thing clears up!

What's a good wedding website blurb to tell your guests you still plan to have your wedding?

You can say something along the lines of, "How excited you are to celebrate with your guests/you can hardly wait to see everyone/you can't wait to give them a big hug, and you'll also keep them notified if anything changes in the next few weeks."

What's the best way to coordinate with vendors when you postpone?

E-mail is the best way to correspond with vendors when you're postponing your wedding. You can get all of your questions clearly out and they can respond in writing so you have everything you need in front of you. Please be patient as many people are going through turbulent times right now.
